Camping and fishing in Austria

In some rivers in the Salzburg Saalach Valley – for example in the Saalach, the Loferbach and the Moosbach – angling enthusiasts can enjoy some fly fishing. With a fishing license, you can even live out this passion directly on the campsite Grubhof in Lofer.

Please note that fly fishing requires special equipment, which you must bring yourself.

Rules for sport fishing (fly fishing) on the campsite

  • With a fishing license, it is permitted to take 2 30cm-long fish per fishing day.
  • Please note that fly fishing requires special equipment, which guests must provide themselves.
  • The minimum age is 14 years, otherwise parental supervision is required
  • Price: € 52.00 (subject to change without notice)
  • Fishing licenses are available daily from 8:00 a.m. at the Hotel Forellenstube in Lofer

Fishing possibilities in the region

At the restaurant Forellenranch in St. Ulrich am Pillersee (approx. 15 km from Camping Grubhof), you have the opportunity to fish for trout. You can fish here from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. (until late September). As well as the fishing pond, the show pond and lake hut are popular destinations for family days out.
