Unken, Lofer, Weissbach and St. Martin in the Saalach Valley in the region of Salzburg provide ideal opportunities for perfect cycling holidays – both for families with children as well as for well-seasoned cyclists and mountain bike freaks.
Cycling and mountain bike tours directly from the campsite
Our campsite is located on the border between Salzburg, Tyrol and Berchtesgaden and is connected to the Northern Chalk Alps/ Loferer Steinberge mountains, Berchtesgaden and Chiemgau Alps, as well as the foothills of the Kitzbühel Alps. The network of cycling routes provides you with a wide choice of tours starting right here onsite, branching off in three directions: to the South towards Zell am See, to the West into neighbouring Tyrol, or north-west towards Salzburg.
Tip: Our campsite is situated directly on the Tauern cycling route, which stretches from Krimml, via Zell am See and Lofer to Mozart’s birth city of Salzburg.

The biking arena provides you with a wide variety of cycling & MTB trails tours along 480 km mountain bike and trekking routes. So those who love a sporting challenge are in the right place. We also have a bicycle & e-bike rental directly on the campsite.
Relaxed cycling tours for families and hobby cyclists
Those who want to take it easy can whizz from place to place along the cycle routes in the Saalach Valley and along the Tauern bike trail, as far (…or not) as they feel like.
Tip: A very scenic route for your family camping holiday is the family-friendly route to the Vorderkaser Gorge. From Lofer, you cycle along the Tauern bike trail through St. Martin to Weißbach along the Saalach River, to the natural bathing area of the Vorderkaser Gorge. Here you will discover small bathing ponds, play areas and picknick spots. The Vorderkaser Gorge is definitely worth a visit.

Not everyone wants to be exposed out on mountain peaks. Our bike region offers leisure athletes and families numerous attractive and idyllic bicycle tours along the Saalach with welcoming rest points and stop-offs for well-earned breaks.
There are more than 100 e-bikes or e-mountain bikes to hire in the Salzburg Saalach Valley, with over 24 e-bike charging stations to maximise the benefits.
